Feeling a little “sheepish”

I attended a baby shower for a good couple friend of T and myself today. I really had a good time and it was great to see the mom-to-be looking so wonderful. Because we have been friends for quite awhile, T and I wanted to do something special for them.

The first picture is of a mixed-media wall decor piece I made for the new baby’s room. I took a prestretched canvas, painted it a shade of brown with acrylic paint to match the bedding. I then added 1-inch painters tape to create boxes, and used more acrylic paint to paint the boxes to coordinate with the bedding. After that, I took self-adhesive vinyl and cut a cute quote with SCAL and my Cricut, then applied the vinyl to the canvas. Finally, I sealed the vinyl and acrylic paint with a glossy sealant to protect the paint and the vinyl.

The second picture is of the card I made for the shower gift. The card is 4.25 inches by 5.5 inches. I have no idea what the paper is, other than it probably came from a standard stack pack found at your local Hobby Lobby/Michael’s/JoAnn’s. The lamb was inspired by a lamb found at SVG Cuts, however I had to completely redraw the image by hand (by mouse?). I used brown pastel chalk and a fine angled brush to create the shadowed effect around the edges of the lamb. I first glued the polka-dotted paper to the card, then I used a corner rounder to round off all four corners. I then attached the ribbon (also found at your local you-name-it store) to the front of the card. Finally, I adding dimensional pop-up stickers to the lamb and attached the lamb to the card.
