Christmas in… June?

Drawing on the post from yesterday, “How-To Create a Double Line Pop Up Card”, I decided to see if I could make something extreme – so I went for the Quintuple Line Pop Up Card. “We wish you a Merry Christmas” turned out excellent, impressed T (who was not nearly as impressed with the double line “Happy Birthday”) and is fairly easy to make once you grasp the basics of the double line.

Step One: In inkscape or other SVG design software, create your text for the card. Draw boxes that have equal widths as each line of text. Center each box on the text and slightly overlap the text with the boxes. The upper line box should be 1/2 as tall as the lower line box.

T wasn’t feeling so hot today (probably a little food poisoning yesterday), so I told him I would make him some chicken noodle soup… off I go to my favorite recipe website and I find an excellent recipe for Chicken Noodle Soup. However, as I entered the front page, this recipe for caramel popcorn was staring at me – so I decided to try it out. Man, this is some of THE best caramel popcorn I have had in a while. A word of caution, it is really sweet, and while crunchy at first bite, it will stick to your teeth! But, SOOO worth it! (more…)
