Operation Write Home: Midweek Throwdown Challenge Christmas in July

Friday, July 30th, 2010

So I have been working on this card since Wednesday… I know, it looks simple enough, but I just couldn’t get it to come together. Now that it is finally together, I love it!

Just a peek at the inside of the card (yes, the card does close flat, so this can be shipped home!)

Operation Write Home: Miss You

So this was actually the first card I made for OWH – I first drew the grass in CorelDraw, then thought that a basketball would look good with the grass. Then I laughed for a long time at the joke that played out in my head, and I knew it had to be a “Missing You” card… T got the joke, do you?

Operation Write Home: Sketch #27 Challenge

Monday, July 26th, 2010

Ok, so I just found a wonderful group of people who use their crafting skills to create handmade cards to send to the men and women that protect our country. I think this is absolutely fan-tab-u-lous and decided that I will have a go at it, too. I don’t think that I am nearly as creative as some of these ladies (and gents?), but I enjoy scrapbooking and card-making, so I might as well put my creative juices to good use.

I had fun making my card in response to the challenge, but I thought it was a little drab… will have to try again next week. The image below is the original sketch

Feeling a little “sheepish”

I attended a baby shower for a good couple friend of T and myself today. I really had a good time and it was great to see the mom-to-be looking so wonderful. Because we have been friends for quite awhile, T and I wanted to do something special for them.
